Day 11. True Justice
The judge will take a decision on Brindi’s life on Tuesday, March 9 at 9.30 hrs.
1. Ordering the Killing of Brindi.
2. Leaving Brindi at the SPCA forever or rehome her to a third party.
3. Brindi returns home to her owner, Francesca Rogier.
It is our firm belief that the only decision that will serve true justice is the sparing of Brindi’s life and her return to Francesca Rogier .
Imparting true justice is a very difficult task and this is why judges are held in such high regard in democratic societies. This authority is not God-given; it is granted by all of us as individuals.
Judges are there to deliver true justice, whether it serves the interest of the minority or the majority, the rich or the poor, the locals or the naturalized citizens or, in this case…
… a dog.

this whole thing totally sucks and has been an ugly exercise in futility and stupid as perpetrated by those power that be. this dog should be home with francesca, not lying on a cold shelter floor, the center of a p*ssing contest:(

The world truly is watching. I am a volunteer with a dog rescue organization. We are stunned at the situation in Halifax, and wonder if perhaps egos are at stake, and pride is getting in the way of Municipal leaders and authority types backing away from a rash decision. Leadership and authority carries responsibility, not just power. We pray Brindi will be home with her owner soon, and that this will be seen as a step to a higher learning for those who lord over dogs but do not understand nor study dogs. God save and protect our animals from those who would torment them.
VLarkhill says:
Many thanks Lois… thanks…

This whole thing rings now like a online reality show. I've had enough! Just let Brindi go home.
End of story!
Gayle Wilson says:
It's more like a horror show!!
Connie Wade says:
You really must think that this has gone alittle to far, and yet this dog did no harm to anyone. The owner now has fenced her property. Give the dog back to the owner… She has proved to you that she is trying to make you see that she is taking precaution for her animal.
J.Gagnon says:
Ashamed to be Candian!
Sarah P says:
Free Brindi!! Let her go home, where she belongs, with Fran!
Doris Lamprecht says:
In any Law obiding Country the Authorities have to have a Search Warrant to be able to enter the Property and to be able to remove Items wich has to be listed on said Paper. In the Us the ASPCA will only remove
Animals if the find them in a Situation where the life of the Animal is in Danger, annd this was clearly not the case with Brindi.
I have ben fallowing Brindis and Francescas unbelivable Story from the Beginning, and have not ben able to determined if such a Document had ben present at the time of Brindis removel.
So unless such a Document can be produced with exact DATE,TIME, SIGNATURE of Judge issueing requested Search Warrant, it seems to me ,it was all done illegal.
I do hope and pray that the Judge will make the right Decision and return Brindi to Francesca. What Purpose would is serve to give Brindi to someone else or worse ,Killing her?
Give Brindi back to Francesca,Please let brindi go home ,
AND SAVE THE HONOR of the CITY OF HALIFAX !!!!!!!!!!

Brindi needs to go home! This is barbaric, preposterous and inhumane on so many levels! If this judge rules in any other favor, especially if it's is putting Brindi to death, the judge better watch her back. There are fanatics, especially with PETA that would make this judge's life miserable if not worse. I am NOT a PETA supporter. The group terrifies me. They mislead, antagonize and attempt to brainwash. They also do not have animal welfare as their top priority. I do hope this story has a happy ending for all involved! .
George Gay says:
Its to fucking bad most of the ill informed didn't live in Canada ,We as the majority of Nova Scotians could care less, and would be only to happy to ship Miss Priss and her fucking dog back to you.
We are sick and tired of her…so if you don't live within NS its none of your fucking business!!!
VLarkhill says:
There has to be a prick commenting on every blog…
Its unavoidable.
margie byrd says:
Is there any way we can email and or call the judge on BRINDI's behalf??? Email addy? Phone number?
Gayle Wilson says:
This whole mess hurts my heart, and makes me ashamed to be Canadian. It also leaves me afraid of what could happen to one of my beloved dogs should they/we be caught in a similar situation. Other pets and their owners, in much worse circumstances, have merely been fined by this same government. This clearly shows how capricious people in power and politics can be, and how unstable our justice system truly is. In Brindi and Francesca's case, the legal system has been used as a weapen. How can we have confidence in it when such atrocities can be played out against one individual and her pet/personal property.
VLarkhill says:
Thanks Gayle.. Im sure everything will be ok in the end..
Alicia Oxenhorn says:
Vickor…truer words have not been written. I must admit the way this Mayor and legal office are behaving scare me. I hope the court will have open eyes and ears…..or better yet that Mayor Kelly wakes up and they drop all charges before hand.
Hoping for Brindi

Kleinfelder says:
Obviously, it's a pissing contest. Boo on you, Animal Control! Dogcatchers have a crappy reputation to begin with, and this just reinforces it. They hate animals! Subsequently, I hate Animal Control Officers,…and sorry to say, I hate Halifax. I was going to visit there this fall. I've cancelled my reservations and will visit NB, NFLD and PEI and bypass NS completely.
Patricia Campbell says:
This must be a BAD joke? Taking a dog away from a good home and keeping her imprisoned under threat of a death sentence? The world IS watching, and you need to let this poor animal go home to her "mother"!!!!
Nancy Jones says:
I will be waiting and watching! I am praying and hoping that true justice is served and carried out this time. How is it that those with ego's so big and not man enough to admit they were wrong were able to throw sand in the court's face and get away with it? I think they should be charged and fined for their total disrespect of the law and the value of the court's time. How disrespectful they have been; not to mention the cost to the people of your city and the owner of Brindi. May the court rule in Brindi's favor and stick it to those who chose to put their own personal egos before the law. In His decision the judge must ensure there are no more loop holes created or existing that will prevent Brindi from once again running on the beach where she belongs. This dog and her owner have suffered far to long for there to be any reasonable excuse for this injustice. It's time to get it over with and set Brindi free.
Chris says:
GOD…save us all if the judge issue anything other than Brindi is going home to Ms. Rogier! So many people have managed to foul this up, and for what reason? IF "THE JUDGE" in this case is out there and actually happens to read this and these other comments, you must send Brindi home if nothing else, to save the face of the city of Halifax, the county of Canada, and the practicality and fairness of the judicial system everywhere in the world. Oh…more importantly, because IT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO in this case!
