Two possibilities… one cat
Meet “Stray Guy.”
Stray Guy needs our help.
It seems that his family moved away a few months ago and somehow forgot him. While he is doing his best to make good from a lousy situation, it’s abundantly clear that he is not doing it very well. He has a nasty scratch on the side of his nose.
A kind woman has been feeding him, but she has dogs and doesn’t think he will fit well in her home. We need to get him into a foster home, get him checked out by a vet and on his way to a better life.
That’s where the two possibilities come in.
ONE — The transportation option. We have a woman in Brantford ready to foster Stray Guy, but we need help getting him there. Brantford is about 6 hours southwest of Ottawa. If you can help us with transportation and/or can recommend someone that can help, email me.
TWO — The foster option. If you are in the Ottawa area and can foster Stray Guy, email me.
Let’s help this guy get his confidence back, his feet on the ground and let’s find him a new home.
Please SHARE his message.
Many gracias, Holly.

How you can “forget somehow” some month a beloved family member????
(
I don’t get those people and i don’t want to be friends with somebody who could leave a kid behind – nothing else are pets: unconditionally loving little furry kids in need!
Sometimes i am ashamed for being a human…
Nina says:
The SAD part is it happens EVERYDAY!!! I hope this Sweet soul gets a safe home Soon poor baby.
Marilyn says:
The poor little one. I feed animals of many types in my backyard sanctuary but I can go inside and let them be. Also I am handicapped.
These voiceless one love unconditionally. How dare they leave the little fellow. This has to be a major trauma. What are you going to do. That is what I despise in certain people. They give a gift or take a kitty when it’s small and then when it becomes big they toss on the side of the road or brutalize it and just don’t care. They should be arrested and the same thing happen to them. You know if a person can do that to any animal they can hurt a person. It saddens me and breaks my heart.
Holly says:
Yes, it happens much too often. And thank goodness for the kindness of the lady who has been feeding him all this time.

I see this on a continued basis and do my best to share and ask for help for these forgotten ones, this is another that breaks my heart and the urgency to find him a home is great, how could anyone abandon your pet, they are so lost and confused not knowing what happened to the people that claimed to love him. please anyone going to Brampton way think of this fellow.
Janette Hamilton (Let's Adopt Canada) says:
Holly, I have a friend vacationing on the east coast. He will be returning in a week or so. We may be able to get him to pick up this cat on his way back from out west not sure what route he is taking but I can ask him if he would help.
Holly says:
That’s great! Tell him that if we find someone in the meanwhile, we will let him know?
Robyn Lynn Reichert says:
The world is a better place because of you guys, please continue to love our animals especially the forgotten and abused ones. Thank you!

I hope Stray Guy will find a good home soon. My adult cat here, Duchess was left behind by her previous owner. When my husband moved in to our house (we were not married by then), Duchess was brushing herself against my husband’s leg and so he noticed Duchess. That’s the beginning of their never-ending love for each other. Now we have 4 cats, 3 are from the shelters and I want to adopt some more, in the future…
My prayers for you, Stray Guy…
Suzanne says:
My mom once broke a window to free a cat left behind in a locked, empty appartment. People are shit.

Many thanks! I will take you up on your hint very soon to spread the word. There is a group I recently found on Facebook called Rescue Transport that is looking for volunteers. Perhaps we can localize our info into a central database.
