Until a few weeks ago, this was Bentley’s life… sharing an apartment with his people, a cat named Celica and Jackie, a Jack Russell in Vancouver, BC.

Bentley and Jackie came with the Mrs., but when the divorce happened, the Mrs. and the dog moved out and left Bentley behind.

The Mister didn’t like Bentley… maybe because he was the Mrs.’ cat? Who knows, but there are some sad stories of conflict between Bentley and the Mister. Ultimately, Bentley was thrown out to make it on his own.

A kindly neighbor has taken him in, but she has a cat and Bentley picks on her cat.

A little damaged in the area of trust and security, Bentley is still acting out from all the changes he does not understand. He seems to miss his mom and dog terribly. Simply, he misses his old life.

His foster mom spends time with him one-on-one. She reports that Bentley is learning to trust again; that he is calm and patient.

He loves when I floss my teeth… lol …he goes after the floss to play with it. I brushed him out, he was patient with that and loved being brushed around his neck.”

Do you have room in your heart and your home to help this little man out? Either as a foster or an adoptive family?

Bentley is 5 & a half years old with long black and white hair, a tattoo in his ear and is neutered. This handsome guy has chubby paws and a bend in his tail….don’t know why. He is very affectionate and loving, he craves attention and loves to play — especially with a ball of yarn. He is very smart, adventurous and gorgeous.

If you are interested in fostering or adopting Bentley — or if you have some tips for Teresa, his foster mom — email me.

If you are in the Vancouver area and have a cat cage (not a carrier) that you can lend Teresa for the short term, let me know and I will connect you.

And please, SHARE his story. There is someone out there waiting for him.

Ciao, Holly

  • Holly,
Thank you so much <3 Let's Adopt! thank you sooo much for helping me, sending big hugs. And Bentley will for sure find a good loving home…..where he could cuddle up with his family and just be loved.

    You are soooo awesome :)

  • I would gladly take Bentley, but my dog is death to cats.

    • hmmm… maybe not a good match. But we appreciate you stepping up : )

  • I have 4 cats right now…
but know of these friends of mine who had 2 cats but eventually the years took them away, old age.
They may be ready to adopt another one as the mourning period of the others has passed, hopefully.

    • Wouldn’t that be wonderful… they would each be helping the other to heal their hurts. Thank you.

      • Awe that would be wonderful, Bentley needs a lot of hugs and kisses. purrrsss and head butts :)

    • You are so awesome, Mary. Thank you so much for asking around to find a good loving home for Bentley, we a lot more people like you :) I’ll tell Bentley about you. I’ve been brushing out his long hair, he just loves it. And he is so funny too, he still goes after the dental floss and tries to catch it. I got him toys and you could see his mind just loves the stimulation, he is a very smart cat and he still has energy kitten like. Today he is interested in the computer, he keeps trying to lay down on the key board…..lol.

      • not to get your hopes up, but there might news soon for an adoption for Bentley :)
I will probably know more during the week.
The people I was hoping to adopt him, said no. But this other girlfriend looked at his picture and fell in love <3

        • Awe thank you Mary <3 I'd give such big hugs for all your efforts to find this little fella's new parent (s)…..he wants to be loved so much, this week he was giving me lot's of purrrs and head butts, oh and sitting on the key board so I have to give him kisses and pets. And he still loves to go after the floss, it's mint flavor (that probably has a little to do with it). So he has minty breath :)
