Stray Guy spent the night in a house last night. The first time since his family moved out and left him behind to fend for himself.
Thank goodness for the generosity of a kind woman named Irene who has been feeding him. Because she has dogs, she was not able to bring him inside, so she sought help to find him a new home.
From the photos we have received, it seems he was so excited that, after eating, he spent a lot of time cleaning up. Probably felt like he finally had a reason to.
Through a couple coincidences, Stray Guy’s name is becoming Stary. First off, many people may be feeling that Stray Guy is just too hard or odd to say when you are calling a cat… “Here, Stray Guy, Stray Guy.” Others may feel it’s just not personal enough. “Stray Guy? Is that really a name?”
One of the women involved in the rescue misspelled it in a message as Stary. Then it was discovered that he has a small white star on his chest.
So, now off the streets and no longer a homeless stray, I guess Stray Guy is evolving into Stary.
Our next step is getting Stary vet checked. And he has an appointment on Friday to be neutered — or as a friend says, “to lose his ‘twins’.”
We are again putting the word out that we are looking for a forever home for Stary. Someone to love this guy as he deserves.
If interested in adopting Stary, please contact me.
I leave you with a few more photos from Stray Guy/Stary’s first night inside. Click the images to see a larger version.

Roxanne
- ENGLISH FOLLOWS -

Available for adoption!
Roxanne is a shy, gentle, affectionate and quiet cat. One of our members, J.-D., found her outside licking tuna juice from an old empty can off the sidewalk, close to our appartment. Roxanne was so scared that J.-D. couldn’t handle her safely, so she started feeding her around the same time for 2 or 3 nights, and then one night the cat just followed her home. Just in time, because only a few hours later came our first major snowstorm of the year.
Roxanne was only skin and bones when brought inside. She weighed almost NOTHING and would eat anything. Everytime there would be a loud noise in the appartment, she would hide as quickly as possible. She’s also very scared of dogs. We are looking for a calm home with at least another cat. I believe children would like her because she is just so gentle.
Look at her… she’s so beautiful. She gives us kisses on the nose in the morning. She’s harmless and she should be no trouble at all… except that she’s so used to eating anything she can find, you will have to watch your food!
My adoption conditions:
- Roxanne must live inside the home.
- You must already have another cat.
- You must be ready to commit. I’m looking for a long-term adoption, not a short-term arrangement. But if for any reason you can’t keep Roxanne any longer, I want to get her back.
- You must join our facebook group and be willing to post updates and pictures of Roxanne after her adoption.
She is currently located in Sudbury, Ontario but if you’re not from the area and you’re still interested, contact me our group will try to organize transport.

Cara has been adopted!!!!
Cara has been adopted by Chriss from Sudbury, in Ontario. Our first canadian adoption!! Congratulations everyone!
[Original article] Hi everyone, Cara is doing very well and now it’s time for us to find her an adoptive home. Then, we will get her spayed and vaccinated.
Cara is adorable. If she’s comfortable, she starts purring when you come close to her. She’s OK with other cats but is terrified of dogs.
The poor cat was left outside even during winter nights. She had several litters of kittens but most of them died due to neglect. Her former ”owners” even drowned some of them. Yet they didn’t bother getting her fixed.
We are looking for a family without dogs to adopt Cara. If you want to adopt Cara, you must have a facebook account and become a member of our group, Let’s Adopt! (Canada) on facebook to post pictures of her after the adoption. You must already have another cat. She also has to stay an indoor cat.

Lucy’s Rescue: a Success!
Last week, I sent you all a message on facebook about a cat emergency in Ottawa. I don’t know if the message got delivered to you properly because no one responded.
Lucy was being neglected by her guardians and left to breed uncontrollably: fortunately, one of our volunteers decided to save her. She contacted the group and asked for help.
TOGETHER, WE MANAGED TO RESCUE LUCY. She traveled from Ottawa to Sudbury yesterday and she’s now far from the people who neglected her. She’s staying with me now, in a warm, safe home, even if it’s only a temporary one.
Right now, there are animals in this country that desperately need our help. We are supposed to be a TEAM, so next time we have an urgent case like this, I’d like to see more members getting involved, especially those who are in the area. I’d like to thank those who did get involved in this case, even just by showing their support or giving us advice. You rock!
Soon, we will bring Lucy to the veterinarian because she might be pregnant.
I’ll keep you updated.
Cath
